- An Editorial Wedding at Oxford Exchange in Downtown Tampa
Abby and Juan had such a classy, editorial-style wedding in January at Oxford Exchange , an industrial, yet elegant wedding venue near the heart of Tampa Bay's downtown. It's one of my favorite venues to photograph weddings at! If you are looking for a luxury, modern wedding venue in Tampa, Florida , then you have found it. Abby and Juan's wedding was a classic theme of black and white sprinkled with baby blue elements. Their florals were stunningly done by Flora Fine Flowers and their tablescapes were beautifully lined with candles and florals. They incorporated elements of Juan's Colombian culture - including an Hora Loca, and as dog owners, even had their speciality cocktails named after their pets! Abby's emotional first look with her dad, private vows, a beautiful ceremony and a giant party coupled with a streamer exit made for the best wedding in Downtown Tampa! It was an honor for me to photograph this elegant, editorial wedding at Oxford Exchange for Abby and Juan! - A Gorgeous Catholic Wedding in the Mountains of North Carolina
An intimate Latin Mass Wedding with touches of green and white in Tryon, North Carolina. Caroline and Josh's joyful and intimate wedding day in the mountains of Tryon, North Carolina was gorgeous from start to finish! The day started out at detailed and historic bed and breakfast, GreenLife Inn at Mimosa . This little B&B was filled with historic accents like a cozy fireplace, a beautiful front porch and rocking chairs, and had the cutest details! It was the perfect, quaint space for us to capture getting ready photos, detail flatlay shots, a bridesmaid reveal and a first look with dad. Afterwards, we headed to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tryon for their gorgeous Latin Mass ceremony. It's a cozy, floor-to-ceiling wooden church filled with stain-glass windows and provided the perfect location for their intimate ceremony. It was one of the most beautiful wedding masses I have gotten the opportunity to capture. After their wedding mass, we went to their reception at Caitlyn Farms , a beautiful farm venue with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Their 600-acre property is not only home to a stunning venue space, but also a grass fed cattle ranch and wildlife management area! Caitlyn Farms was the perfect space for their 170-guest wedding, providing a beautiful reception space with large barn doors, shimmering chandeliers surrounded by drapes, fire pits, an open-air patio, a walking garden and greenhouse, and the best part - the mountain views and rolling hills. Everything about this day was gorgeous, emotional, intimate and truly filled with the Holy Spirit. They even did a washing of the feet ceremony in their reception that was incredibly humbling and meaningful. The best part about this wedding was that it was forecasted to rain all day and not a single drop fell throughout their day until the second they entered their getaway car at the end of the wedding! It was truly a blessing! The florals by Carolina Petals were so elegant and beautiful, the food provided by Sullivan's was delicious and the music and lighting by Mavericks Entertainment kept the cheerful party going all the way through the fun sparkler exit! Traveling to weddings is one of favorite things because I get to meet couples and other vendors from all over and get to know and experience different towns and landscapes! Photographing Caroline and Josh on their day was so special and they left me a review that made me tear up... "5 trillion stars!!! Working with Allie was all I could ever dream of in a wedding photographer. My husband and I had searched for a photographer for months and were discouraged, but the wait was so worth it when we finally stumbled upon Allie!! She shares our Catholic faith, so I knew she’d be able to understand our desire to capture the beauty of the Mass and the Sacrament of Matrimony. I had expressed a worry that the church might look too dark (it is floor to ceiling wood with almost no natural light) and she captured the light and edited the photos masterfully. She brought out the beautiful interior that I was afraid might get lost. Allie makes you feel like a friend by the end of the day, and I totally forgot that we were strangers that morning. She’s bubbly and calming all at the same time. She is confident, experienced, assertive, and organized. She knew just what to say when I was getting overwhelmed or nervous, and mirrored a wedding planner at times, giving us the direction we needed throughout the day. From picking me up coffee on her way to our hotel the morning of (and reminding me to drink it), to her organization and efficiency throughout the day and dedication to getting the perfect photographs, she was one of the biggest blessings on that day by FAR. I’m a pretty private person by nature, but I’ve shared the link to our wedding gallery with EVERYONE. That’s how obsessed I am. All my family and friends keep telling me how beautiful the photos are, and my husband and I still remark at how wonderful of a job Allie did. I want to frame all of them. THANK YOU Allie. I will forever recommend you to everyone. As a gal who knows multiple wedding photographers personally, I’m so glad the Lord guided us to you. Thank you for making our wedding photo dreams come true." - Savannah and Drew’s Don Cesar Wedding Featured in Vogue
I have the biggest news to share! In case you didn’t hear… Right Up Your Allie Photography was featured in British Vogue’s August 2024 Issue : Summer of Love! It has been a long time goal for me to be featured in Vogue - and just shy of two years after starting my business, I reached the goal of becoming an internationally published photographer! Feeling shocked is an understatement! Submitting your photos to a top tier, world-renowned magazine is intimidating, but after photographing Savannah and Drew’s luxurious wedding in April of 2024, I knew it was THE wedding I was going to submit to Vogue. Their wedding was held in the most stunning hotel venue at Pass-a-Grille Beach in St. Petersburg, Florida - The Don Cesar - and was filled with intentionally curated details. Savannah and Drew started out with an emotional first look and private vows in the corridors followed by a gorgeous outdoor ceremony surrounded by palm trees and the famous pink walls of the Don . There were many happy tears, loud cheers and one heck of a party. Did I mention they had an Espresso Martini Hour? We had a stellar team of vendors that ensured the day flowed smoothly and beautifully - and it was an honor for me to be part of the team. - The Importance of Wedding Photos in the Midst of Tragedy
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” Job 1:21 Sometimes it is difficult to understand what the Lord does and why - but we praise and trust even in the storms. That is faith - and faith is hard. But there is one particular person who has inspired faith in me and so many others and it was one of my brides - Mariana. Mariana and Nate were married in St. Pete on October 28, 2023 and they were the sweetest couple you ever did meet. Their wedding was filled with joy and you could just see how much they loved each other. Tragedy struck 3 days later when I received a message that Nate had devastatingly passed away on their honeymoon. I couldn't believe it. After this news, I rushed to edit as many photos as I could so she could look upon his face in this time of deep suffering. This was the hardest thing I ever had to do in my career - but when she received the photos and told me, "You have no idea how much joy these pictures brought me", I felt this sense of purpose and meaning behind being a photographer that I had never felt before. These photos brought her joy in a time where I can't even imagine what she felt. These photos were able to give her precious memories, frozen in time, of Nate and their love for each other - and that was the greatest gift I could have given as a photographer and friend. My heart was truly shattered for this beautiful, God-fearing couple. I often asked, “Why, God?”. But very quickly, I saw beauty in this tragedy. I saw a community rally together for support, love, prayers and hope for Mariana and Nate and their families. I saw a faith unlike I have ever seen before from his family. And I saw something that absolutely rocked me to my core - that in the midst of her deep suffering, Mariana praised the Lord and trusted Him and His greater plan. It made me question - “Would I do that? Is my faith so unshakable?” She inspired me to have a truly deep, solid trust in the Lord in which nothing can take it away. And behold, “the Lord giveth”. A short while after this tragedy, I received news that filled me with an immense amount of joy. The Lord gave Mariana and Nate a son. A TRUE miracle of conception - a total gift from God. In the midst of sorrow, the Lord blessed Mariana with a child - and we welcomed Raphael into this world a few days ago! His life is such a gift. Mariana’s life is a gift. Nate’s life (earthly and heavenly) is a gift. YOUR life is a gift. Join me in praying for Baby Raphael, Mariana, Nate’s soul and their family and friends. I am so grateful to God that I could have played even a tiny role in giving Mariana joy in the midst of tragedy. - The Importance of Hiring a Catholic Wedding Photographer
If you are having a Catholic ceremony, you should hire a Catholic Photographer. If you are reading this, you are engaged and the Lord has brought you the amazing gift of a spouse! Congratulations! I have been there (in 2022) and it's such a huge blessing to get married in the Church. I was married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tampa, Florida! I Pray for You Getting married in the Catholic Church is so sacred and unique and there are tons of intimate and extremely important moments during the Mass. This is why it is so important to hire a Catholic wedding photographer. Now, I know very well that there are amazing photographers who are not Catholic who can do an amazing job, but there is something so special in hiring someone that will pray for you and your future spouse as well as celebrate in the Mass with you as you say "I do". Reverence in a Catholic Mass Reverence is of utmost importance in Catholic Churches because you are not only celebrating a Sacrament, you are honoring and worshipping God - and it is so important to me that my photography does not interrupt the nuptial mass. I always aim to be quiet, kneel and pray alongside you and your family and friends while capturing every single moment, including the very important moments of the Consecration, receiving the Eucharist, the homily, the exchanging of rings, the blessing of the lazo and arras and of course the kiss! One of my brides recently shared this: "My mom was amazed by the photos Allie was able to capture during mass because you never saw her! Allie made sure not to disrupt the mass one bit. I am so happy I decided to hire a Catholic wedding photographer because one of my fears was a non-religious wedding photographer not understanding the Catholic mass and accidentally interrupting." As a a traveling Catholic photographer, I love capturing Catholic weddings all around the US and internationally. Uniting my passion of photography with my faith has been such a gift! - An Italian Adventure in Lake Como
A Lake Como, Italy Boat Photoshoot | Italy Wedding Photographer Lake Como, Italy (Lago di Como) is one of the most beautiful and iconic Italian destinations. These small mountainous towns surround this gorgeous, crystal clear teal lake and are filled with so much color and character. Bellagio is the most common town people go to around the lake, however, we stayed in Como! Lake Como is surrounded by gelato shops, high-end fashion stores, delicious pasta-filled restaurants and of. course, coffee shops. It is also home to insane architecture, fashion icons like Gianni Versace and famous A-listers such as George Clooney, Madonna, Sylvester Stallone, and so many more! Lake Como is also home to some of the most gorgeous wedding venues! Here are some of them to consider for your big day: Villa Balbiano Grand Hotel Tremezzo Villa Belvedere Villa d'Este Villa del Balbianello Villa Regina Teodolinda Fun fact: So many of these venues have been featured in movies, like James Bond! The elegance, rich architecture and dramatic valleys in this part of Italy creates perfect locations for elegant and luxury weddings, but it is also an incredible backdrop for intimate boat elopements, too! There are endless options for your wedding or elopement in Lago di Como. Going back to Italy to photograph a wedding or elopement is one of my bucket list locations, which means packages are discounted! I would love to go back and become an Italian Wedding Photographer for a day again! - A Moody Cannon Beach Oregon Elopement
Eloping in Oregon Cannon Beach is one of those places you dream of going to as a photographer - so I was SUPER excited to capture this elopement and experience the beauty of the Oregon Coast! This couple, Angelica and Jeremiah, have that deep love where you know they were made for each other. They ran away from home at 18, lived a very frugal life moving from place to place, had a beautiful baby boy and worked incredibly hard to be where they are at now. They are so easy going, totally in love and gorgeous together! It was an honor for me to photograph their love. This day was cloudy, very windy and chilly, but it was worth every second! The wind naturally created a very ethereal, whimsical look to their photos! Pro tip: Wind isn't so scary! The Oregon Coast, especially this beach town, is perfect for a more intimate elopement. The beach is fairly large with plenty of room to get photos without a lot of people in the background. We never felt crowded and couldn't go wrong with any angles since this beach is so stunning all around. Overall, this is an amazing elopement destination. Tips to Elope in Cannon Beach Take weather into account! Depending on which months you travel, your attire will vary! Summer (May, June and July) are going to be the better months. Temperatures will reach the mid-70s which is perfect weather (in my opinion!) This elopement took place in August, and it was very windy and COLD! It was perfect for a more moody vibe for their photos, Definitely keep that into account when planning your elopement. Weather and cloud coverage influences your photos! Wear shoes that won't sink into the sand (aka, not small heels!) Block heels, boots or flats are going to be your best bet here! Get a Beach Permit! Use this resource made by the Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce to organize your planning Book great vendors!! I would LOVE to be your photographer! Angelica was also wearing a gorgeous dress from Ania Bridal, an amazing bridal shop in Portland, Oregon. The florals for this wedding were designed and created by the talented Flowers by Almanac. All vendors will add something unique and beautiful to the vision! By Allie M | Right Up Your Allie Photography, LLC Allie is a Tampa, Florida based destination wedding and elopement photographer. - Couples Session in El Matador State Beach California
Malibu in the Spring. Pretty dreamy, right? That's exactly how it was for me when I traveled there in April. Everything about the West Coast's nature is gorgeous. The steep cliffs, cool ocean breeze, foggy hilltops. Needless to say, I very much enjoyed my time up there. One thing that made this trip extra amazing was getting to capture a gorgeous couple's session with Suvi and Zack. We decided to meet at El Matador State Beach on the Malibu coast and it was just beautiful. It was surprisingly chilly (very different from Tampa Bay) and very windy - but that wasn't going to stop us from having a dreamy photo session on the beach! I took a more documentary approach to this shoot - just letting them be them and me photographing from afar. They ran on the beach, competed at who could spin faster, laughed, kissed and just enjoyed each other's presence. I am so thankful I got to capture their love. I truly love photographing two people in love - whether that's in Florida, New York, California, etc. Any location, you name it - I am there. - A Dreamy Downtown Tampa Rehearsal
The Night Before The anticipation... It's finally one more sleep until "I do"! It is the most nerve-racking and exciting time - and Sophia and Diego wanted every single moment captured to look back on as they prepared for their wedding!! We went for an elegant, editorial and intimate vibe for their "Night Before" photos. We started at the gorgeous, century old historic courthouse turned hotel, Le Meridien, in Downtown Tampa. The marble steps leading and large columns up to the hotel entrance create the perfect backdrop for a sophisticated look - and Sophia and Diego ooze sophistication and style! After some portraits in windy Downtown Tampa, we moved to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for their ceremony rehearsal. You could just feel the excitement from family and friends as Sophia and her dad practiced walking down the aisle where, in less than 24 hours, her and Diego would commit themselves to each other. This part of their "Night Before" shoot was especially sweet for me as I also got married at this same Church just last year. It was emotional reliving my personal experience through Sophia and Diego! It was truly a gift for me to experience and capture these moments for them. After their ceremony rehearsal, we headed to the intimate, authentic Italian restaurant, Trattoria Pasquale, in South Tampa! It had the perfect environment for intimate, editorial-style flash photos! Every single moment of their Downtown Tampa rehearsal day was sweet, elegant and intimate! I am so grateful for these moments of capturing documentary and editorial-style photos for my sweet couples. - A Windy City Elopement
Downtown Chicago, Illinois If eloping in Chicago sounds like your jam, then I am your gal. Although I am a Florida girl through and through, I will take any chance I can get to travel up north! I love giant, historical cities just like Chicago because there's just this classy vintage yet modern vibe wherever you go! The surrounding architecture is STUNNING and makes the perfect backdrop for your downtown elopement. Christie and Ryan were so in love - you can tell by the way they look at each other! It was an absolutely freezing day but they didn't let that stop them from enjoying their love and union. Everyone walks in Downtown Chicago - so SO many people stopped to wish the couple well, shouting "Congratulations!" with smiles on their faces. It was really sweet to see. There's something about the intimacy of elopements that just gets me every time. Plus having an amazing hair and makeup team and florist makes it even better!
